there was all of 11 freshman at band orientation. me and manas for trumpet; rebecca, bill, and mike (who got his braces removed since the last time i saw him, he looks kind of like a vampire) for alto sax; carlucci for drums; vicki and diana for flute; erik for french horn; and lisa and elisa for clarinet. ben is also going to be in band. but he's on vacation now. i guess the people are fine. no one i hate too much. but the marching was TERRIBLE. we were out in the hot sun. it's humid beyond belief. the seniors (and maybe three or four juniors and sophomores) were yelling obscenities at us and hitting us with drum sticks. ack. i did win myself $5 for winning marching simon says. and pat santomouro owes me another five when school starts up. i would've just given up on the game, but i really needed the money. my stash is running low and my mom owes me another $60. she just can't keep her grubby hands out of my money. but i doubt i'll get it for awhile, until i can badger my dad into giving it to me. anyway, after the marching everything was good. we hung out in the faculty room for awhile, which is air conditioned, and had some pizza and soda that ms. henson, the band director, ordered for us. then the older kids kind of gave us a tour around the school, but i wasn't paying any attention. i was kind of on auto-pilot. it's too hot to care. then elisa's dad kindly gave me a ride home, because there was no way in hell i was going to walk, and now i'm home. and bored. as usual. but i don't want to go out because it's too hot. the mall or the movies would be good right about now, being air conditioned and all. but it's not like i have a ride. my parents are never home. grumble.

didn't do much today. slept until about 3:00, and then at 6:30, i dragged jolene with me to go the pal-o-mine introduction meeting. pal-o-mine is some organization i plan on volunteering for. i know she isn't planning to volunteer with me, but i didn't feel like going alone and i knew she had nothing to do. on the way there, my mom got lost and we had to back to my house to get the directions she conveniently left on the kitchen counter. my mother is as unorganized as one woman can get. when i was younger, she used to forget to drive me to school. i was tardy a whole lot in the first and second grade. then i figured out where the bus stop was and started going there on my own. but that's a completely different story. anyway, we finally got there half an hour late. some lady talked for awhile about the organization and we watched two videos, one set to tacky music, and the other set to no music at all, which was much much worse. since it was right by huntington village, me and jo walked to european republic and got a wrap and some fries. and then we called my mom and she took us home. what a happy story.
tomorrow i have to wake up at an ungodly hour (9:15) to go to marching band orientation. give me cancer now, god. please. i didn't know it was this early. and i have to WALK, trumpet and all, because both my lovely parents are going to be at work. it starts at 10:00, so normally, i'd wake up at 9:30, shower, throw on clothes, and go, but since i have to walk, i have to wake up even earlier. fifteen minutes of sleep is a lot in sandre land.
